Certified with Good Agricultural Practices promoting Food Safety
Payawan Farms is located in Brgy. Payawan, Municipality of Lamut, Province of Ifugao. It had produced High-Value Crops even before registering with the Department of Trade and Industry as Payawan Farms.
Payawan Farms was certified with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in 2021 and renewed its certification in January 2024. As GAP-certified it adheres to its practices for food safety, good quality of produce, environmental management, and the health and well-being of farm workers.
Because of its GAP certification, Payawan Farms experienced dealing with market outlets for a standardized price. Then it was instrumental to the linkage of Ifugao tomatoes with Tosen Foods, Inc., a canning company, that now produces the first locally canned whole peeled tomatoes. This market linkage is aligned with the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division of the Department of Agriculture Cordillera Administrative Region Regional Field Office and the World Food Expo Team.
Now, it aims to be a part of the value chain by linking its farm products and the products of GAP-practicing farmers in Ifugao to the end-users.
To be the region's leading, sustainable, and technologically advanced farm, empowering farmers through knowledge transfer and best practices.
To cultivate a thriving agricultural ecosystem by demonstrating GAP-certified farming techniques, providing practical training and support to local farmers, and producing high-quality, safe, and sustainable agricultural products.
